Engelberg
At 3,238m above sea level, Titlis is one of the most popular winter sports and excursion destinations in the Uri Alps. In winter a very nice ski area with Jochenpass, Trübsee and valley run, in summer always worth a trip with its glacier and ice cave for a welcome cool down. The Rotair gondola has a rotating floor and was the first aerial cable car with a rotating gondola in the world.
Cliff Walk
It lies between the municipality of Engelberg in the north and the Gadmer Valley rising towards the Susten Pass in the south, north of the summit ridge, below the summit and is ideally suited for mass winter sports, where most tourists stay in winter. The Titlis is only accessible from Engelberg by mountain railways. Cable cars run from Engelberg in four major stages via the intermediate stations of Gerschnialp, Trübsee and Stand to the Kleintitlis mountain station at an altitude of 3020 m.
Trübsee
New gondolas have been in use since 2014, in which the entire gondola cabin rotates 360 degrees on its suspension during the journey. In this way, the passengers can see the complete all-round panorama while driving.
In December 2012, on the Titlis at 3041 m, the approximately one hundred meter long Titlis Cliff Walk opened. Advertised as the “highest suspension bridge in Europe”, the bridge leads over a 500 meter drop.
From the mountain station, the path to the bridge goes through a 140 meter long underground tunnel in the south wall window. The other end of the bridge leads to the mountain station of the Ice-Flyer glacier chairlift.
