Interlaken
From Interlaken, the valleys of Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald branch off, making Interlaken the center of the eastern Bernese Oberland. It is the ideal starting point for trips to the Schilthorn and the Jungfraujoch. An international, almost Asian flair is felt everywhere in the city, with a shopping mall or Asian restaurant for every palate.
Berner Oberlands
Interlaken is one of the major tourist centers in the Bernese Oberland and has over 60 hotels, the most famous being the Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa.
There is a wide range of outdoor and leisure activities on offer, including adventure sports such as parachuting off the north face of the Eiger, paragliding, canyoning, river rafting, bungee jumping, base jumping and kayaking.
From the Harder Kulm you can enjoy a wonderful view of Interlaken with Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, and in the background an unforgettable mountain panorama with the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
Lauterbrunnen
The vertical rock walls around Lauterbrunnen and with the Staubachfall and the Trummelbachfalls leave a lasting impression. The Mürrenbachfall at 417 meters and the Buchenbachfall at 380 meters are considered the two highest waterfalls in Switzerland. Lauterbrunnen is the center of attraction for base jumpers from all over the world.
