Also called Bürgenberg, the Swiss mountain (1128m) is located in the Uri Alps on Lake Lucerne in the canton of Nidwalden. In a narrower sense, Bürgenstock is a health resort on this very mountain, the Alp Tritt.

The hotel complex has been called Bürgenstock Hotels & Resort since 2014.

In 1872, the Bucher & Durrer company founded the hotel branch on Alp Tritt. They chose the already existing and documented name Bürgenstock for this. Around 1900, Bürgenstock became the general colloquial term for the entire mountain range from Stansstad in the west to the lower nose in the east.

The resort is home to several luxury hotels and a congress center and has been a popular holiday and congress destination since 1872.

Hammerschwand Lift

The highest open-air lift in Europe, the Hammerschwandlift, is located on the Bürgenstock. It connects the scenic Felsenweg trail with the Hammetschwand vantage point, from where you can enjoy an impressive view of Lake Lucerne and the surrounding mountains.

After an impressive view of Stansstad, Hergiswil and Lake Lucerne, you can drive to the Hotel & Resort with the associated Waldhotel by shuttle service.

From the summit we have a wonderful view of the Pilatus, Lucerne and the Rigi, along the Felsenweg you can hike to the Hammerschwand lift, the largest open-air lift in Europe, in a few minutes. At the foot of the steep cliffs to Lake Lucerne is the village of Kehrsiten, which you can reach by taking the Railway and from there a catamaran cruise across Lake Lucerne to Lucerne is possible.

For the guests who have to return to Zurich, our chauffeur will be waiting on the quay in Lucerne, and will drive you safely and luxuriously to your hotel back in Zurich.
